Zero guesswork

How we measure

Vintage sizing is unreliable, so we ignore the label and give you four flat numbers on every piece. Measure a garment you already own and compare — that is the whole system.

Photograph of How we measure

Chest (pit-to-pit)

Measured one inch below the armhole seam, straight across, garment lying flat.

Total length

From the collar seam or highest shoulder point down to the bottom hem.

Shoulder span

Across the back from left shoulder seam to right shoulder seam.

Sleeve length

From the shoulder seam to the cuff edge along the outer curve.

Waist

Across the waistband, fastened, lying flat. Double it for the full circumference.

Inseam

From the crotch seam to the hem along the inner leg.

Tip: compare these numbers with a piece you already love, not with your body.
