The Mynistik standard

How a piece earns its place

We are not a marketplace and we are not a thrift store. Every piece passes a five-point inspection before it is photographed, and anything that fails is returned to the source.

01

1. Sourcing

Estates, closed boutiques, film wardrobes and private collections in the United States and Europe. We buy in person wherever possible, and we say no more often than we say yes.

02

2. Authentication

Construction, hardware, labels, stitching and material behaviour are checked against period references. If we cannot authenticate it, we do not list it — we never mark an item “as-is”.

03

3. Condition grading

Every piece is graded between 8.5 and 9.9 on our ten-point matrix, and every deviation is photographed and written into the listing. Patina is not a flaw; damage is.

04

4. Measurement & conditioning

Measured flat on a marble table to the half inch, then ozone-treated, hand-finished and pressed. Repairs are made only where the garment demands them.

05

5. Cataloguing

Photographed in daylight, numbered and recorded in the archive with its full history attached, so the piece can be traced years later.
